Celebrating 10 Years of Retirement and Looking forward to EASTER!!!We feel extremely blessed that Robert is celebrating 10 years of retirement this week! He worked at UTM for
over 2 decades serving the university in the maint. shop and later as locksmith.
Excitement is building for the
upcoming Easter Weekend. We are looking forward to having our family gather together once again. We will begin with a big
dinner and as usual the table will be full of family favorites. We will bless this meal by thanking God for giving us his
son to die on the cross for our sins, only to rise again on Easter Sunday so that we each might have everlasting life.
After our tummies are full, We will be having our annual Easter egg hunt which is rather unique to say the least.
I put quarters and dollars in plastic eggs for the grandchildren and greatgrand children to hunt. We all get envolved with
my preparing for the hunt and being official judge and egg "accountant. Robert chips in by hiding the prize eggs (which
consists of either a $5 or $10 bill inside the egg). Our children and their spouses hide the rest of the eggs (and there are
MANY to be hidden). Then it's up to the younger generations to find them. It's so much fun that even the adult grandchildren refuse
to miss out on hunting. Prizes are given for the most eggs found, the most money found inside and of course, the prize
eggs themselves.
After the hunt we watch the young'ens fly kites, fish in the pond or ride on four-wheelers,
tractors or carts. It's a big day and we can't wait!

Sad day due to passing of a friendMrs. Becky King was a dear friend. She passed away yesterday (March 13th, 09') and will be sadly missed. Our
Friend Mrs. Becky King Mrs Becky King has been a dear friend of
mine for many years. We were in the same Sunday School Class at Dresden First United Methodist Church. She was very
active and had been a member there for over 50 yrs. Her Husband Fred died over 30 years ago, leaving her to run their
business The Radio Shack at Dresden for many years. They have one daughter Freda and her husband Slick Frazer who live
in Murfreesboro Tn. He is a retiree from the miltary. They have 2 boys Chip and Jake. Chip is also in service
for his country. Jake works for a company overseas. These 2 grandsons were really close to their grandmother and
she was to them. They called her sometimes several times a week and talk for a long time, which really made her day.
Both boys are married. Chip and his wife Tabitha have 3 children and Jake and his wife have one. Mrs. Becky also
really loved these greatgrand children. The oldest one also called her a lot and talked to her. One of the boys
was in Texas last week on business, so he caught a flight and flew in to Nashville and surprised the family and spent the
weekend. he left early this week going back.
Mrs Becky would have been
90 come June 4th. She had made plans for the last 2 or 3 years to move to the Adams Place, an assisted living home in
Murfreesboro where she would be closer to her daughter Freda. Mrs. Becky has been battling heart problems for some time,
but still loved to be active. She would go to the Senior Citizen Center almost every day to play cards, bingo and dominoes
and she had many many friends and hated to leave Dresden and kept putting it off until around November she got sick again
and Freda came and got her and at first she thought she would be getting better and she started out spending a few weeks with
Freda and Slick. Her condition kept getting worse and Freda thought it was time to have her there all the time, as Slick
was having surgery on the brain since he has parkins diesease and Freda could not take care of her here and him there.
So Becky stayed with her until an apartment became available at the Adams Place about a month ago. She took the apartment
and was determined to make friends and enjoy her home there. She continued to play cards and participate in the activities
there in the home, taking tours over Murfreesboro 2 or 3 times. She enjoyed reading, sports and the Tenn Vols, and watch
every game on TV. Last week when the grandson came home and surprise the family he wanted her to go to Freda's for
the weekend while he was there. He came and picked her up on Sat and they went to eat at Long John Silvers where the
grandson wanted to go, since when he and his brother was little boys they would want her to take them there and they would
sit and talk for a long time. So he wanted to do that again with her Saturday and did. She told me what a good time
they had. So she went home with him to Freda's and enjoyed the weekend. Every since she had gotten sick she
has been on oxygen, but she tried hard to not let it get her down. Monday the family was going out to eat and wanted
her to go with them, but she told them she needed to go back to her apartment. She was not feeling good then. By the
next day she stayed in her room all day, which was very unsual. She just did not feel like getting out and also the
next day and she kept getting weaker. Freda was with her and she did not think she would make it thru Fri, then on Fri
nite she was so weak, she knew Freda when she got there, but shortly did not know anything else. Her breathing kept
getting more faint. So between 8-9 she just stop breathing and went to be with her Good Lord.
At this time Sat nite, we do not know any arrangements, but the service will be here in Dresden. Slick came home from
the hospital today. We know one of the grandsons will be flying home. I do not know if the other one will be able
to or not. So we all are waiting to see when Freda will be able to come here to make the arrangements. Like I said before Mrs. Becky was a very Dear Friend to this family. oue grandson
Mack and Mrs Becky had a very special relationship. Mrs Becky and I would either email or talk to each other almost
every day. After she moved to Murfreesboro we talk almost every day. I talked to her Thur nite and she was very
weak. She said she wish she could tell me she was better, but she could not and she did not think she was going to get
any better. She was so weak that I only talked a minute or so, she just was not able to talk. Freda told me Fri Mrs.
Becky took the oxygen off and laid it on her pillow, she was ready to go. Please
keep Freda, Slick and the grandsons and their families and also all her close friends in your prayers. She will be greatly
missed by so many. Mrs. Becky King's Friend...Jessie
