Welcome to Dana's Bridal workshop!
This is where we will establish the details of her wedding. We
can collect photos of what we like and the theme she is gearing toward, along with details that she has decided
on.
This page will take shape was we gather more details and more decisions are made. This is to be more of a visual for
you to help you visualize your wedding and keep things together.

Bridesmaids: Bridesmaid
gowns will be Persimmon and Palm Beach Coral.

Item 1: Wedding Cake
Below are some photos that will
help describe the wedding cake:
Basicly we are shooting for the overall look of Photo #2 with
a few changes.
The flowers on the cake will be the same as what the Bridesmaids will be carrying. This will add more
color than the green and white in photo #2. this will give a bit of color as photo #4 kinda shows. Keep in mind, photo #4
flowers are more orangeish and we will be using flowers with a bit more pinkish coral tint.
The filling between the layers will be a tangy marmalade. Yummy!
The cake hardware I have is
shown in Photo #3. The clear columns will work well. The plates are now white (not gold as shown here). Four tiers is just
a bit too "tall and skinny" so we will be using 3 tiers. It will look like the lower three tiers with the exception
that I will be using the short columns to attach the top tier (not the long columns as shown here in the photo).

We will be serving sheet cakes to suppliment the wedding cake.
The Groom's cake will be chocolate and
in the shape of the state of TN.
A UT icon will be placed one eastern end of the state with a Titan's icon in the
middle and a deer in west TN.
I am happy to announce that Bud's daughter-in-law, Angie owns a baking business
and will be assisting me in this Wedding Cake project. We are very blessed to have the addition of her professional experience.
Wedding cake update!
Angie has been combing
through her recipes and has made a sample cake. She suggested a marmalade filling and sent me a sample today. I'll
tell you this is going to be fun to sample these good cakes! :) I will describe it best I can. The cake icing is buttercream which is what is normally used on cakes, especially wedding cakes. Angie's had
a light whipped consistency that I really found impressive. She sprinkled some clear crystals on the top that really set it
off causing it to glisten catching the light.
The cake had an extremely
moist texture and melted in my mouth and packed with flavor.
The marmalade filling was a surprised delight. I think I had the pastel tinted icing stuck in my head but this was awesome!
seriously. It had a touch of the tangy citrus, the sweetness of a cooked filling and I actually like the color of the marmalade
here and there within the filling. I think this will match the flowers much better than the pastel. The snippets of marmalade
accent the white wedding cake, complimenting it, not overpowering it. I think Josh will like this as well since it is closer
to his beloved VOL shade. I like the idea of the hint of citrus flavor since you are serving fruit and it's spring...
and it all just comes together. And, as Angie pointed out a filling as this aides in keeping
the cake moist.
I'm going to freeze part of the cake she sent
and bring it home at Easter for you to sample yourself (if I can keep Bud out of it! ha ha).
