This spring I decided it was time for me to have some Chickens again. We'd tried Guineas for a few years and loved
them but Free Range birds do not work well in our neighborhood (The Asphalt God gets them!) and so we elected not to replenish
when the last one was gone. Now, the yard seems empty...
Back in the spring I got the hankering for a few chicks
when they arrived at the local Ag buisness's. One day I just got in my car and drove to the nearest Tractor Supply and
made myself a big ol' purchase of 8 chicks. I call them my Tractor Supply Specials when asked what breed they are. Actually
I was supposed to have 2 Rhode Island Reds and 6 of another kind. The 6 turned out to be silkies and the Rhode Island Reds??
Well, one is a big black hen and the other is a big white Rooster. *giggles*.
