Hugs by Sight
Ok, I refuse to believe my last blog post was in January! WOW! Sorry! It has indeed been busy!

So, I got this new camera. yeah, it's a sweet little thing. Got me in the mood for taking photos! And, yes, of course the creative juices flow and the brainstorming begins....

Long story short. I want to create a book of lighthearted, uplifting "hugs" via photos and short tidbits of inspiration. Thing is, I want more diversity than I, myself can come up with. Solution? Create a Photo contest and offer cash rewards for the best photos with the extra fun of including the photos in a published book! Yea!

If you are reading this and have not yet considered entering the "Hugs by Sight" photo contest, I suggest you do! $100.00 first prize! check out the details here at
http://www.sharidenise.com/hugsbysight.html

Awesome opportunity there!

Quit pushing that fast forward button!
The holidays have come and gone. We've enjoyed an artic burst the first couple of weeks this year and now a nice little snow storm has covered us with that beautiful twinkling stuff we get so excited about!

I've been rather excited and busy since my book (totally revised) was published just before the holidays. If you've not had a chance to read it yet I have several who would encourage you to do so. The feedback has been incredible and I am very humbled by this adventure. www.warmhugsfordarknights.com is becoming a tool that many are reaching their suffering loved ones with to fill their evenings with comfort and compassion. This has been my goal from the beginnning. Many times I've hit a brick wall and thrown up  my hands saying, "Ok, Lord, this is your project. If you want it to sit here, fine. If not, please direct me in the path that you want this thing to go." and then a door, or a window opens and I sit back amazed.

Who pushed Fast Forward?!
Goodness! It's already November! My favorite time of year! The past few months have been incredibly fast paced and action packed. And I've loved each and every minute! My book revision is just about complete, Jayc Harold and his addition to my "Warm Hugs for Dark Nights" gift boxes has really been inspiring. He and his family are such a blessing to be around!
While Bud spends his days combining beans, I've enjoyed a hugh project of giving the interior walls of several rooms in the house a new coat of paint. We've also decided to reupholster a couple of old chairs and I'm excited about getting them back!
It's leaf blowing time and thanks to my heavy duty STHIL gas blower, I've just about got that task completed. I do so enjoy that chore.
I've also enjoyed making several pumpkin pies with a little extra jazz on top with leaves and pecan "acorns" created on top. I just love doing such things!
My website design business www.dkiss.biz  continues to grow. www.farmingtonview.com as well as www.mccallconstructionllc.com are a couple of my new creations, as well as www.polecat.biz . Recently I created a new website that spotlights my brother, Mark Mansfield. You can find this at www.monsee.biz . Check'em out!
I've added a new section on my website here. Unique ideas. I decided it was time to start adding photos of past and current projects. This section is just getting started. As I uncover more past projects and create more I will continue to add them so keep checking back often.
Another tidbit, Angie Morton, Bud's daughter-in-law continues to build her cake baking business. Trust me, her cakes are incredible and are "A Taste Above" all other cakes I've ever had. More about her business to come in the near future.
Also, Tabitha Herrin, my daughter continues to build her frozen casserole business. Preparing casseroles ahead of time and freezing them provides her family with hot nutrious meals even on those busy evenings when there is no time to cook. More about Tabitha's casserole business will also be coming in the near future.
Due to my own sensitive complexion, I've elected to become a personal use Mary Kay Consultant so I can get my products at cost. Let's face it, when it comes to skin care, there IS NO other better! Should you need something you may go to my consultant webpage at: www.marykay.com/sharidenise . They have alot of great Holiday gift ideas!
I want to take the time to thank the Farmers of this great Nation who are hard at work in the fields right now in the midst of Harvest. Without them, WE go hungry! Each day at the office (Knox Co. Farm Service Agency) we strive to serve the farmers to the best of our ability.
I also want to thank each and every soldier in the Military. The sacrifice each one makes as well as their families back home does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. God Bless the USA!!!!

It's gonna be an awesome holiday season! Get ready, get set, CREATE!

Busy, Busy, Busy...
Whew! It's been a busy last few weeks!

Bud is still trying to plant beans in between rain, got stuck earlier this week in the bean field.

I spent last weekend and the first of this week helping my daughter and her little family move into their new house. I'm so proud of them cause they've done all this on their own. They are hard working and totally devoted to their little family. you can see pictures of their house, click on this link:
Then yesterday I was at work and the lawncare guy came in and announced his lawnmower had slid into the front bumper of my mustang. As luck would have it the bumper will now have to be replaced. The lawn care owner's insur has been very aggreeable and I will get Kris to do the repair when I go home next weekend for my nephew's wedding.
That is the other thing that has consumed a lot of my time. I made alot of the items for my sister's son's wedding including the invitations, programs, unity and memory candles, their stands. Bud's daugher-in-law, Angie (Mace's wife) has her own cake business and is really good at it (if you need a cake, she will fix you up!!!) she is making the cakes with Marmalade filling, and buttercream icing. I will then put the tiers together and add all the flowers, etc to decorate the 3 tier cake. NOW, here's the trick; I had planned on hauling the 3 tiers of cake and the 4 sheet cakes, other supplies and unity candle stands in Bud's suburban. now, since I've got to get my car fixed on this same trip I've got to figure out how to get all this stuff packed in my car for the haul across the state. Bud laughed and said if anyone could, "I" could. a month ago I hauled a little goat across the state from my brother's house to give to Angie, Mace's wife. ha, that was a sight you don't see every day, a baby goat in a crate in the front seat of a mustang gt.
On top of all this I've found the song artist, Jayc Harold, that will supply the cd album for my Warm Hugs gift boxes. It was a intense search and earnestly left up to God to guide me to the one He had plans to use for this project. As usual, God's choice is impecable! I've met with Jayc a few times and have enjoyed visiting with his family. They have a story all their own. I did a couple of interviews with him and have now wrote "his story" to include in my book that is also in my gift boxes. Jayc Harold and his family have truly made the commitment to follow Christ's calling 100%. Their rewards in heaven will definately reflect this dedication! meanwhile, we are fortunate to be able to enjoy his songs and music here on earth!

Exciting new update!
I am extremely excited to share that Christian Country Music Artist Jayce Harold has graciously agreed to provide his CD Album "Hard Times" for my Warm Hugs for Dark Nights Gift boxes. I can't wait to update my website but at the moment the company I have my website with appears to be having several issues going on. Hopefully the issues will be resolved soon or I will be forced to relocate my website elsewhere.
Warm Hugs for Dark Nights Gift Boxes are just about ready for a more advanced market. We are so excited about this adventure! Please keep us in your prayers! And pray for Startlogic and Sitedelux, that they might resolve the website issues rapidly. db

Tuesday and it's a good day
Considering my eye injury, not being able to go home for the Easter holiday and having to reschedule other appointments, I did indeed survive the weekend. Last night the ebay auction for Bud's seed cleaner ended and we were pleased with a little bit of profit from that experience. Now, we have Mace's Billet Speciality wheels listed, ending on saturday evening. Hopefully we will have a nice experience there as well.
Today I made my last of the series of eye appointments at my new found Eye specialist. The Eye Group in Knoxville have proven to be more than the average professional group. New to the area and on a holiday weekend? How was I going to find someone to see me? I googled "eye dr. knoxville" and this was one of the websites that came up in my search. I do believe God led me right to them. Dr. Lain was extremely patient and through. Even Bud was impressed! Yesterday I saw Dr. Lain's partner, Dr. Manning, who was as kind and professional as Dr. Lain. Should anyone wish to contact them I would recommend it! Their website can be found on my page of links here on my website. just go to my back porch and click on "Links".
I was hoping to have good news to share by now but my injury has delayed some appointments I had set up, and then other issues seem to keep causing other delays. It's been my experience that when God is in something, Satan gets mad and starts throwing junks in our path. well, YEA! this gives me only encouragement that I'm heading in the right direction! This also increases our faith and keeps us humbled. God eventually will step in and Kick ol Satan to the curb and we can proceed. So, keep checking back, good news is still pending!

Change of weekend plans
Sometimes such a small event will change one's course completely. We don't always understand why such things happen but we must always trust that God is control.

During friday's storm I was carrying in an armload of wood for the fireplace, lightening crashed, I jumped, wood came up, poking my eye. urgent care Dr. said I scraped most of the membrain off, large laceration of the cornea. Went to the eye Dr. saturday morning and he put a contact lens patch on my cornea and some drops for the pain. Urgent care Friday night gave me antibotic drops and pain med. It's been an extremely painful experience but I think the worse is over. Sight still fuzzy, difficult to read. Not able to make it home for Easter which has me really down. But thankfully, No longterm eye damage.
And just before I was poking my eyeball out, My daughter was dancing with a tornado that hit Murfreesboro! Thankfully she, hubby, and the children are ok! But she did see the tornado while she was in route home from picking up little Brycey-Bug. She had both children with her and was heading home, saw the tornado, was near city hall which has a lower level parking area so she dipped into it and waited out the storm.
According to Tabi, Ryleigh was asking why was God doing this? Tabi told her that this was just weather and weather just happened. Ryleigh said, "yes, but God can stop it, why doesn't he?" such innocent little faith.
According to Ryleigh, "Mommy's lips were trembling and her whole body was shaking cause she could see the tornado in her rearview mirror." I asked Ryleigh if she was scared and she flatly said, "Nope, I didn't see it."  appears she's a bit braver now that the storm was passed.
oh, and Ryleigh informed me that if I would come to her house she would fix me a cold icepack for my eye and give me a popsicle. I think she would make a great nurse! :)
Friday's events seem most fitting for it is indeed remembered as a most turbulant day. The day Christ died on the Cross for our sins. But there is GOOD NEWS! He rose on the 3rd day!!! And as sad as Friday was, sheer joy comes with this morning!!! the morning he arose!!! The Real reason for Easter is not for easter bunnies and egg hunts, but the day Christ rose from the grave. On this Easter Sunday as I am not able to make my planned trip home for the family gathering, I am reminded that the reason for the season is Christ gave it all for me. For that I am ever so humbled. Happy Easter everyone!

Good Friday- My best friend died for me today.
It's Good Friday and a somber day to remember Christ gave the utmost for us on this day. This morning here in my little neighborhood a thunderstorm rolled through. As the thunder rolled and the lightening crashed it made me think of how it was on that orignal Good Friday when God turned his face from the horrific sight before him. It was a most turbulant point in time. And even then, with all that they did to Christ they couldn't make him not love them. "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." were his words during such pain. And he loved me too that day. Most humbling realization.

Seems my website is an ongoing machine that changes shape often with my updates and additions. Today I've added several more of my favorite links to the links page. Look for LINKS on my back porch. I've also arranged a bit on the front porch (Home) to be easier to access.

My website design adventure came in handy recently as good friends from back home had a horrible incident to happen to their son. Need for posting information and updates became easier with the creation of a website for them. you can find it at www.tyturner.info . my prayers continue to be with this family.

We've decided to sell our Vintage Seed Cleaner. Bud bought it from my parents' neighbor with intentions of using it to upgrade from the small one he already has. Due to other avenues of interest taking a greater part of his time now, he's elected to offer the Seed Cleaner to someone who might need it more. we've posted it on ebay with the auction ending on Monday evening. Info can be found by clicking on the photo of the Cleaner on my front porch.

Lastly, I'm extremely excited about tomorrow!!! I request your prayers that God's guidance and leadership orgastrate my day as I pursue my dreams. I hope to be able to announce some very large news in the very near future!

Happy Good Friday!
Denise

Excitement building
It's been a wonderful day. Started out with an awesome sunrise. The sun was peaking out from behind a passing cloud and the rays were reaching out in all directions.
Enjoyed having lunch with an old classmate. Sometimes we wonder where did time go??? Time has been good to my friend. she doesn't look any older than she did in school. Me? my Miles seem to have racked up. :)
I am excited that I've narrowed down my search for "The" CD for my Warm Hugs for Dark Nights gift boxes. Hopefully I will be able to make the announcement soon!I feel very passionate about this new product and the addition of a CD that seems to be created just for it is very thrilling for me.

Tennessee Spring Time

Rain and cold fronts reminds us that old man winter is still dragging his feet to get outta here. This gave me the opportunity to pursue my tasks inside, and on here.

My "Warm Hugs for Dark Nights" gift boxes are on sale here on this site however in the near future they will be available elsewhere. Research and decisions about how and where they will be sold are being made. I have one last hurdle to accomplish before I am ready for the "box push". The musical CD. My research sessions have been focused on this lately. Just the right songs and song artist is vitally important for this very special gift box line. I've searched and prayed and am convinced that God is going to lead the right singer/group that he has in mind for this project.
I've been informed that my site would have more options and opportunities if it had an "intregraded" shopping cart. This is a process that I am currently working on and will have it added to my site in the near future.

My nephew, Josh's wedding is quickly approaching. Bud's daughter-in-law, Angie is going to make the cake since she has her own baking business, and I will complete the "building" and decoration detail at the wedding site. Today Angie sent a sample cake. Bud and I had fun sampling the tasty treat. You can find more details about this and Dana's Wedding here on this site at:

http://www.sharidenise.com/dana.html

Bud and I finally got all the severely trimmed trees in our yard cut up and cleaned up, finishing the last of it (except for a few wood splitting pieces) Saturday evening between rain showers and thunderstorms.

Bud helped James finish his engine that will be for sale soon. It's a 1967 427 corvette engine. Details can be found in the Garage of this site.

New Challenges
Seems I've been "Blessed" with several challenges all at the same time concerning my adventures here on my website and the goals I want to accomplish. However, a big dose of determination will help me forge on.
One of the tasks is the fact that I have many photos on my website. Yeah, I know, I'm a visual person. So, at the present time I am taking steps to reorganize how I post my photos here. You will find I have begun to add photo galleries where the photos are smaller yet you can click on each to enlarge. The goal here is keep the page loading time down. And, it gives a better viewing aspect.
I am excited about my "Warm Hugs for Dark Nights" gift boxes and the the progress I've made of offering them to the public for purchase. I've hit about 3 snags recently but am determined to take plan B, C, D, E, F and even G until this project is off and running. I will keep you posted on my progress!

Rainy Day
Today has been a messy, rainy day. So, I've taken a bit of time today to continue to work on and update this website. Today I added a blog for my parents so all of their friends can keep updated on their happenings and interests. This is part of my website design project. I'm enjoying creating such things for them. :)
I'm excited about the fact that Mom & Dad now have their own blog where their updates can be posted. This worked out really great over the weekend with news of one of their friends passed away unexpectedly and several wanting to get info about her. I believe this will become a great tool for my parents and those who love to hear from them.

My Book is published!
It's been a long journey but my book is finally published!
"Warm Hugs for Dark Nights" is a collection of short inspirational stories that I've written over the past few years. This book is an ingredient in my "Warm Hugs for Dark Nights" gift boxes.  This was a large hurdle for me and a personal accomplishment. I have a couple more "hurdles" to get through before this project gets off the ground. I will keep plunging on.

Blog Beginning
Well, guess a blog must begin somewhere, so here is my beginning.

Hi! Welcome to my blog. Today is Valentine's day and it's incredible how much I've enjoyed my friends on facebook today. I am truly blessed to have such amazing friends! And if you are not on facebook yet, you are missing out on alot! It's such a fun and fast way to visit and stay in contact with friends and family. Since I've moved 350 miles away from my family and hometown, I really do enjoy it. and people like me there! ;)

My Sweet Valentine, Bud will be joining me later for a quiet evening, just the two of us. Steaks, crackling fireplace... a good movie... yep, can't wait.

funny thing is, we spend most of our evenings like that and I savor each and everyone of them! It's like eating your favorite dessert over and over again. yep, I can live with that! :)

Recently I've dived more into website design. I think I'm addicted to websites. My website here makes it possible for me to create websites for others. No, I'm not into getting into this really big right now, but I enjoy it and think I can be of a great service for some who need a simple, basic website to promote their business OR just a webpage for a big upcoming event like graduation, babies, weddings, etc. If you have an upcoming life event or have a business you would like to get out there on the World Wide Web, give me a shout!
